Hidden, a bestselling novel penned by our own Catherine McKenzie, releases in paperback in just two days, on April 7th. We’re so glad she’s with us today to tell us a bit about the book.
Q: What’s the premise of Hidden?
A: When a married man dies suddenly, two women are devastated at the news … his wife, and his co-worker.
Q: What would you like people to know about the story itself?
A: If books about the possibility of infidelity make you angry or uncomfortable, don’t read this one. That is, unless you like being angry or uncomfortable.
Q: What do your characters have to overcome in this story? What challenge do you set before them?
A: I think it’s easy to take sides in these sides of issues and so the challenge for myself (and my characters) was to all be sympathetic, real people. Just three people in a mess.
Q: What unique challenges did this book pose for you, if any?
A: Many, but the biggest one was writing from a male point of view for the first time.
Q: What has been the most rewarding aspect of having written this book?
A: The reader reaction. I feel like I put everything i had into the book and it’s gratifying to see that so many people appreciate it.
