Mixon co-authored the nonfiction Children and the Internet: A Zen Guide for Parents and Educators, published by Prentice Hall in 1996, for which she is listed in the Who’s Who of America.

She has been published in the Northwest Review, the Berkeley Poetry Review, and The Cream City Review, been a finalist in the Bellingham Review Chapbook Contest, and won an award from theByzantium Chapbook Poetry and Short Fiction Contest.

Mixon’s blog, A. Victoria Mixon, Editor, was named a Top 10 Blog for Writers 2010-2011 and a Top 20 Blog for Writers 2012. She writes the editorial advice column Ask Victoria on the newsletter for the popular writers’ blog Writer Unboxed, where she is a frequent guest blogger. She also maintains The Art & Craft of Writing Lab and Victoria’s Advice Column.

Mixon’s first book on writing, The Art & Craft of Fiction: A Practitioner’s Manual, is one of the elite handful recommended by Preditors & Editors.

Her second book on writing, The Art & Craft of Story: 2nd Practitioner’s Manual, has been praised on video by #1 Kindle Best Selling author Stu Wakefield.

Her third book on writing, The Art & Craft of Prose: 3rd Practitioner’s Manual, is due out in 2013.
