PhotobucketWriter Unboxed began as a collaboration between aspiring novelists Therese Walsh and Kathleen Bolton in January, 2006. They often dissected complex books and movies, trying to hone in on what made them work so well, and had even written and published an article about Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings. When a second article idea was rejected for publication, they decided to create their own forum where they could broadcast their observations anytime they wished. Writer Unboxed was born. They’re thrilled the site now includes contributors from all walks–from the not-yet-published to bestselling authors and industry leaders–and that it’s grown into such a rich community for writers.

And it continues to grow!

Join them and over 5,000 other writers in WU’s promo-free Facebook group–rich in conversation and writerly support.

Follow them on Twitter for craft and news tweets throughout the day.

What’s next for WU? Rumor has it, there’s a live event being planned for 2014. Stick around and find out. And in the meantime, feel free to read this in-depth Q&A about WU’s history (with thanks to Beverly Diehl).

Write on!
