Valued contributor Sophie Masson just sent us this note:
“Just uploaded a clip for my forthcoming historical novel for young people, The Hunt for Ned Kelly. Hope you enjoy. The music is by my son Bevis and a friend, Nick–I’ve had them (and two of the other boys in their band) writing soundtracks for various book-trailer clips for me, they’ve done very well writing and performing in very different styles (I haven’t uploaded all the clips yet for the other novels, waiting for covers and such). I think they should do it as a musical sideline and write music for book trailers for other authors–among other things! They’re writing these under the name of Glass Half-Full, and are available for other commissions!”
I’ve listened to the trailer, and the music is fantastic! Give it a listen and see if you agree. If you are thinking about personalized music for a website or book trailer, Glass Half-Full might be the answer for you. Thanks for letting us in on the scoop, Sophie!
Former contributor Susan Schwartzman has let us know she’s just started a new endeavor: Confessions of a Book Publicist. Click the link to check out this newsy tidbit:
I received an e-mail from an international bestselling author based in Spain seeking to hire me for his novel that was about to be published in the States. When I asked him how he had heard about me, he said Frank McCourt recommended me.
Wow!
As she so ably did for us, Susan will give the lowdown on the ins-and-outs of book publicity. Congratulations on your new communication portal, Susan!
