I was first drawn here because one of my favourite authors writes columns now and then but I've stayed for so much more. The interviews are great -always insightful and fascinating. Now WU is one of the regular sites I visit on my daily round before I start writing. What would I add to it? Hmmmm. Not a lot. There is always something else I'd like to learn, of course... but I'm also of the belief that the only ways to add skills is to actually work on them day in, day out. But since you've asked... maybe some help with queries? Not so much how to structure a good one - there are great sites out there that help with that. (Thank you Nathan Bransford) but I think every unpublished writer in the world wants one thing though... how do you know whether your story sucks or your query does? Maybe a query competition? The 'is your query ready to go...?' kind of thing. On the other hand, I'm not fond of competitions of places where I have to put it all out there to get feedback. (Those of us who write high concept fantasy usually prefer to keep it under wraps from the blogging universe....) Anyway, just a few musings for you guys. Thanks again for all you do here!
