When that guy remarked that her story wasn't going anywhere, she could have shrugged him off because of her talent. And even though she wanted to disagree, that little voice inside of her told her that he was right. It takes humility to take someone's advice and apply it. I personally think Carleen's first book did (all the awards, a Target Breakout book, an Essence recommended read, a Lifetime Movie...) a cannonball in the writing pool. Keep up the good work!
