Thanks for this posting Therese! You ask intelligent questions & Carleen provided interesting, thought-provoking answers. The bi-racial population worldwide will continue to grow, but discrimination will continue to be a problem.
My grandparents arrived in Canada over 100 yrs. ago, both my parents were born here over 80 yrs ago, I still deal with racism. Even my bi-racial daughter has faced discrimination. For her, it’s more subtle, but it’s there.
But not allowing black & latino kids into a pool this day and age?!? That is something that happened to my father when he was school age, not permitted to swim with his classmates, in case his ‘yellow skin’ contained the water! He was forced to watch from pool side.
There’s no reason for this to happen. I’m going to have to check Carleen’s book out!

Can’t wait to read this one Carleen! I read ‘Orange Mint & Honey’ and absolutely loved it, so I know this one is gonna be great…and I love how you described your process; I tend to be a plotter and pantser at the same time so I empathize! Great Post!!

Great interview and sounds like a book I would definitely be interested in. I am in the middle of writing a book with a similar message and it is loosely based on a true story too.
