I love this post because it's practical and encouraging, and, hey, how can a metaphor that involves a lampshade-wearing guy dancing the YMCA on a table not be a good thing? Off to tweet you! I think it's hard for some writers, who are not necessarily the most social of butterflies, to think strategically about how to promote themselves. But of course, "difficult" is no excuse for not doing something. After all, we're trying to be WRITERS. Nothing about this is easy!
