Juliet has posted news of her recovery on her personal website:

On the health front, I’ve recovered well from the surgery I had on March 25, and am now waiting to talk to a couple of specialists about whether I should have any further treatment and what it might be – drug treatment and radiotherapy are some of the options, but I won’t necessarily have either. I’m back to doing a little work (see Work in Progress.)

Keep sending those positive vibes to Juliet.

In other news, Juliet has just been nominated for a fantastic award! This from bookspotcentral.com:

The short list for the new David Gemmell Legend Award has been announced. The award is given to “a work written in the ’spirit’ of the late, great David Gemmell, a true Master of Heroic Fantasy.”

Last Argument of Kings of Joe Abercrombie
Heir to Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier
The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
Blood of Elves by Andrzej Sapowski
The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks

The winner will be announced on June 19th.

Juliet’s response? “…it is just tremendously exciting and surprising to see my book on such a fabulous short list. With Joe Abercrombie!”

You absolutely deserve to be on that list, Juliet! Readers, as soon as we learn how the public submits a vote for this award, we’ll let you all know so you can support our favorite fantasy author.

Congratulations, Juliet!

Her debut novel, The Last Will of Moira Leahy, sold to Random House in a two-book deal in 2008, was named one of January Magazine’s Best Books of 2009, and was a Target Breakout Book in 2010. She's never been published with a lit magazine, but LOST's Carlton Cuse liked her haiku best on Twitter, and that made her pretty happy.
