I second what Amy said above, Egri's book is great and also goes into character quite a bit, too. It seems like the 'mid-point' has come into fashion too, at least in screenwriting and is usually described as something like the point where things are looking bright for the hero before starting the downhill journey to the PPII. Good summary for sure.

Good to know that no one's sick of Plot Month yet, Amy! :-) I also love reading the different methods each writer uses; it's encouraging that there are a multitude of ways to acheive the same thing. He has a similar structure, so if anyone's looking for elaboration on the subject, I would recommend that. I love the focus on plotting this month as well. Seeing all the different methods different authors use has given me a lot of ideas. Breaking it into acts works for me.
