From the Mailbox

Every so often, Therese and I get interesting alerts in our WU e-mail account that we should pass on to WU readers, so many that I thought I should start a feature called “From the Mailbox.” The moniker isn’t going to get chisled on the Parthenon anytime soon, but it gets the job done.
Kelly Sonora let us know about a terrific new website for writers. 100+ Free Open Courseware Links for Writers is chock-full of useful links, from technical writing tips to understanding literature. Beware: you will spend a lot of time here beefing up your Favorites menu.
D.L. Russel dropped us a line to let us know that Strange, Weird, and Wonderful Magazine is currently taking submissions for their third issue, which will be published January 1, 2009.
And a reminder that NaNoWriMo is rapidly approaching. Therese’s interview with founder Chris Baty was one of the most hilarious we’ve had on WU. I’m not entirely sure if I’m going to participate in NaNoWriMo this year, but I can be talked into it.
UPDATE: Therese e-mailed me to include an alert that M.J. Rose is giving away free digital copies of her latest release, The Reincarnationist. Therese also interviewed M.J. HERE.
Write on!

Thanks for the reminder of the Chris Baty interviews. I’ve forwarded the links to two email groups where we are helping each other prepare and do nano this year. He’s such an inspiration!
