Before I get to highlighting a few of the juicy tidbits of news in our Google Notebook that Therese works so hard on, I wanted to share some reflections on Patry Francis Day, and how wonderful it was to see so many bloggers come together to help Patry. I bought Patry’s book this morning on Amazon, and as of right now, THE LIAR’S DIARY is ranked #1 in the psychological suspense thrillers. That’s pretty amazing.
A bit of good news amidst the doom-and-gloom of book sales: books account for the largest percentage of online purchases, a 40% increase from two years ago. I’m theorizing that when/if the economy takes a downturn, book sales will actually rise, since books are a relatively cheap form of entertainment and gift-giving. Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but I’m allowed my wishes.
JK Rowling supports ecologically-friendly paper for her books.
Cheerios has selected a winner of their Spoonfuls of Stories contest:
Shellie Braeuner, of Nashville, Tenn., has been named the winner of the Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories Children’s Book Contest, which supports unpublished children’s authors. Braeuner’s story, The Great Dog Wash, will be published by Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing with illustrations by Robert Neubecker, and Braeuner will also receive $5,000.
Head on over to our Google Notebook page for more snippets of publishing news.

Sounds pretty fabulous all round.
Cheers
Only now I’ve realized that that picture is from the movie “Princess Mononoke”. One of my favourite movies of all time.
