Best part was walking in "the narrows," which refers to the river bed running through Zion. The water was absolutely ice cold, but because the air was so hot and arid, somehow everything equalized and began to feel comfortable. We hiked through the river to see new, stunning vistas of sheer, variegated rock around every bend. Just gorgeous, and the kids had a blast "swimming" in the water. But somehow I managed to gain a few pounds on this trip. How does that happen? (French toast, that's how.) We had a great time, yes!
