Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketUnless you’ve been enjoying your weekend away from the computer (how dare you), you’re probably already aware of Miss Snark’s announcement that she’ll be retiring her fabu blog. The writers’ blogosphere is in deep mourning.

Miss Snark does not like my poetry. Once I even garnered a WTF from her, which gave me a strange sort of pleasure. (If you can’t write great poetry, you might as well write poetry that appals for all its badness.) I just want to go on record as saying I know this is not poetry. I even know it’s not good. But I feel compelled to embarass myself on the blog tonight, so here goes:

Our glass is half empty, Miss Snark, Miss Snark,
Our glass is half empty, will you pass the gin?
Get a clue gun, you nitwit, you nitwit, you nitwit,
Get a clue gun, you nitwit, you nitwit, I’m leaving.

There’s a whole in the bucket, can’t you see it, can’t you see it?
There’s a whole in the bucket, Snark’s siphoned the gin.

Damn. What are we going to do with all these limes?

Therese Walsh co-founded Writer Unboxed in 2006. Her debut novel, The Last Will of Moira Leahy, sold to Random House in a two-book deal in 2008, was named one of January Magazine’s Best Books of 2009, and was a Target Breakout Book in 2010. She's never been published with a lit magazine, but LOST's Carlton Cuse liked her haiku best on Twitter, and that made her pretty happy.
