AWWW, thanks for all the well-wishes! Soon I'm going to start hyperventilating about plotting methods...I'll ask folks how they do it and road-test one method.

Congrats, Kathleen! No matter how you do it, it's great to have it done. I do something similar to Holly's method, but after my first one-pass revision, I send it to my CPs. So of course I have more revisions once I get their critiques back.

Wow! Way to go. What you've described is how I anticipate a good version of the One-Pass Revision will go for me. I anticipate it will truly be a One-Pass (well, really two as you noted) when I get more experience.

Congrats on finishing up. I'm doing Holly's one-pass for the first time myself. It's hard, but it's going better than my last, less organized attempt. I'm not nearly as fast as Holly either.

Thanks you guys. Man, there were some ugly--and I'm talking uuuuggleeee stages to this thing, and lots of waffling and sweating and doubting...all the things we do to ourselves. Which I think is good. I think we should question our choices because sometimes doing that leads to better things.

But I'm really glad that's all over. Now I have another story to be anxious over!

I'm going to check out NaNo too. I'm not ready for it this year, but it's something to keep in mind for next.

A tip for anyone considering... spend October plotting/outlining, so that November can go smoothly. The hardest part of doing NaNo was that my outline was only partial, meaning I had to improvise quite a bit of the first draft. That's where things got ugly.

I think with some preparation, that first draft may not be so bad. Or not as bad as mine was last year. ;)

And hey, we can all do it together and egg each other on. Nothing like a little community support!

Okay, Eric, I'll seriously consider it. Maybe it's just what I need to motivate me to the finish line. Here's the link to NaNo for anyone else who wants to check it out!

Congratulations, Kathleen! Good work. Phew. Now find a moment alone, pour yourself a glass of wine (or herbal tea), put your feet up, and take a nice, deep breath. Sigh. Keep me posted. You know my fingers are crossed for you.

Congrats, Kathleen!!! You definitely need to celebrate your success because it IS a success.

What an interesting way to edit. I don't know if I could do that method or not. But I'm glad it worked for you. :)

Congrats Kath...

I think I speak for lots of us when I say I wish I was at the point you are. :)

Participating in NaNo will probably land me a 2nd clunky novel to try and wrestle with, but that's ok.

Therese: You should give NaNo a shot. What you end up with is not pretty, but at least you've got something to work with when you're done. It may not be much, and it may be very ugly, but it's something.

I detect a hint of that in Kath's post. Getting to Destination Something.
