How would one become a Literary Agent? What are qualifications? My friend suggested I think about becoming his Agent since I am always looking out for his best interest and everyone elses. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

I am an unpublisher author residing outside of the U.S. and I am looking for a trusted, reliable print on demand publishing company to send my manuscript of a Children’s (Fictional) Story Book to in the U.S.

Any suggestions??? I really don’t want to get scammed by some of fraudlent sharks out there.

As an officer of AZ Authors Assoc. I am trying to line up a program about scams and the “beware” topic. We have 180 members, and surely some of them have tales to tell. But I need a speaker to headline the event. Do you have anyone with knowledge about this topic in the Phoenix AZ area?

Thanks to your services, I was able to avoid the nasty pitfalls associated with The Barbara Bauer agency, The Children’s Literary Agency and another recent agency whose name escapes me at present. Thanks so much for this invaluable service. My advice to any writer seeking an agent: Weigh the pros and the cons of a scam agent as oppossed to NO AGENT AT ALL. As badly as we all want to be published, we’re so much better off and blessed with NO AGENT AT ALL. Thank you so much once more, your site saved me Ms. Bauer’s exorbitant fee!

I just wanted to thank you for providing such a valuable service to writers. I checked out Writers Beware and the SFWA site when I started querying agents. I remember I got one really, really fast turnaround on a query for my first book (before I’d joined any writers organizations, met any writers, etc) and I was suspicious (because I didn’t think I was THAT good!) . . . I googled the agency and it came up as a not recommended, fee charging.

Anyway, I’m glad you came through the latest incident relatively unscathed because you definitely provide a much needed service.
